When she mentioned my short story on Chitmahal (The Enclave) it took me down a forgotten memory path of this story being published in The Best of Asian Short Stories, Kitaab International, 2018, and of reading an excerpt from it at the Lucknow Literature Festival. But not just that. Also, the startling realization that I wrote on rare and random themes and topics, my mind flitting like an ephemeral butterfly.
It was such a bolt of encouragement for me, the writer – a bolt out of the blue.
