TESTIMONIALS for POETRY WORKSHOPS

“The workshop was great. Thank you for being wonderful.
I think with any form of art it is important to know the rules and then decide which ones can/should be followed, bent, broken or completely disregarded. The workshop did exactly that for Haiku, Haibun and free verse. Not only did it take away the false, rigid notions we had regarding unfamiliar concepts, it also made me, at least, considerably less intimidated by them.
The session itself was liberating in a way. There were no wrong answers. You were extremely encouraging and patient as well as successful in creating a sort of safe space for all of us to just hear and learn to appreciate our own voices.”

“Thank you so much for taking the time to do the mentoring workshop with students at CORO the other day. I would also like to thank you for painstakingly putting together the ppt despite your hectic schedule. The students thoroughly enjoyed this newfound experience and could relate to your ppt as it was fun, full of images and videos. Your easy demeanor and camaraderie struck a chord with the kids. Your attention to detail and simpler explanation of the debate format was simply great. It was truly an enriching experience.

Thank you again for doing this with us.”

Getting mentored by you was the best thing that ever happened to me. Watching you edit haikus in was literal magic. I’m so grateful for everything. I hope you have an amazing year!

Rochelle’s workshop is like a get together of friends on a bright yellow Sunday morning brainstorming ideas and painting with words. She engages with us in crafting stories and poetry in the form of haiku and haibun, chiseling away the excess words, fine tuning words to enhance the inner meaning, encouraging fresh perspectives, guiding us with constructive criticism and marveling at the little wonders created in the process.
A truly enriching experience!
